Rumble in the jungle…

Thanks to everyone who came along to our April screening – ‘The Eagle Huntress’ attracted one of our biggest crowds yet!

Our May screening is the 2017 thriller ‘Jungle’, a biographical survival drama directed by Greg McLean (of ‘Wolf Creek’ fame).  Come along on 3rd May, 7.30pm at the Killara Centre to see Daniel Radcliffe in a distinctly non-Harry Potter-esque role.

‘The Eagle Huntress’

The April film screening is ‘The Eagle Huntress’, which tells the story of a young girl (Aisholpan) who is training to become the first female eagle hunter in 12 generations of her family.  Billed as a documentary, Otto Bell has since faced questioning about whether any of the scenes were ‘staged’ for the purpose of the film.  True or not, this is a beautifully shot film set in the stunning mountains of Mongolia.

You can watch the trailer here and you can see the full film at the Killara Centre, Camperdown on Thursday 5th April at 7.30pm.

THANKYOU!

Here at the Corangamite Film Society, we find that the best way to express ourselves is through film.  So to say THANKYOU to our members for a fabulous year, we’re offering a free screening in December – come along and see ‘Tanna’ on Thurs 7th December, 7.30pm in the Killara Centre, Camperdown.  We ask that you bring a plate of supper to share – we want to be able to thank Christine (The Minister for Suppers) and give her the night off too!  Hope to see you there…
