Running Time: 2hr In the 2024 political thriller Conclave, directed by Edward Berger and based on Robert Harris’s novel, Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with overseeing the secretive papal conclave following the sudden death of the Pope. As the College of Cardinals gathers within the Vatican to elect a new pontiff, Lawrence uncovers a web of political intrigue, personal ambitions, and hidden scandals among the leading candidates. Amidst the sacred rituals, he grapples with his own doubts and the weight of tradition versus progress. The film delves into the complexities of faith, power, and the human flaws within the Church’s highest ranks.
